About Amiah
I am a dual-degree student in Mathematics and Civil Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology and Clayton State University with a strong passion for helping students build confidence and truly understand mathematics. I have completed advanced upper-level mathematics coursework and have spent the past two years working as a Mathematics Learning Assistant, where I closely supported college students in subjects ranging from foundational math to more advanced concepts.
What makes working with me different is that I focus not only on getting the correct answer, but on helping students understand why concepts work. I believe every student is capable of succeeding in math with the right support, patience, and approach. Through my pedagogy training, I studied how students learn and how to adapt explanations to different learning styles. This experience taught me how to break difficult topics into manageable steps and create a comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions without fear of judgment.
Students working with me can expect someone who is patient, supportive, adaptable, and genuinely invested in their success. Whether a student needs help preparing for exams, understanding homework, improving study habits, or rebuilding confidence in math, I strive to meet them where they are and help them grow academically and personally. My goal is to make learning collaborative, engaging, and less intimidating while helping students develop skills they can carry into future courses.
