About Quincy

I have a passion for hearing everyones story, hearing dreams, goals, aspirations, and more. It is in these stories that we all can find motivation and determination. I love seeing students come into themselves, and bloom with confidence. I believe that with the right guidance, everyone can achieve their goals.

I am a student and I have always been an academic. I took calculus III and differential equations in high school. Throughout high school, I tutored my classmates in languages, writing, chemistry, and math.

I studied computer science at university for three years, working on behalf of my school's department. I mentored, tutored, and taught my peers at University Level. I excelled in Algorithms and learned: Python, C++, C, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Scala, and programs such as Mathematica. I was on dean's list for all three years at CU, worked on the board of our honors college, and was awarded grants, and the highest merit scholarship at CU (Seawall Scholarship).

I've studied three languages. Spanish, French, and Mandarin. I am conversational in French and Proficient in Spanish.

I recently transferred schools to pursue my dream of being a journalist, filmmaker, and writer. I am attending GSU where I received a presidential scholarship.

I am a writer and have an abundance of experience in many different fields. Including math, biology, medicine, writing, history, film, and computer science.

Helping others.

I was a tutor throughout highschool. I was a tutor in college and a course assistant.

My job as a course assistant involved explaining complex concepts, encouraging students, working closely with them, and at times lecturing for an absent professor.

About the lesson

I always spend time to learn about my students. I believe that establishing a personal connection and understanding each student as individuals is the best way to push and motivate a student.

I then start reviewing knowledge of material, that they might know to encourage and excite for what we will be learning.

I keep a close check of how they're knowledge of concepts are. I'll often do little quizzes to get a read.
