About Ashley
Welcome! My name is Ashley Mello and I have five years of teaching and tutoring experience. I'm currently a Fifth Grade Math and Science teacher at Eanes ISD and have experience working with grades Pre-K through 6th in Houston and Alief ISD as well. I have a degree in History from UT Austin and am TEA certified in both Elementary and ESL education. Though I currently teach Math and Science, I have experience teaching all elementary subjects and would be happy to tutor for other subjects as well.
The thing I love most about tutoring and teaching is helping students reach that "Aha" moment where the content becomes clear and understandable to them. I love working with students from a veriety of backgrounds and finding ways to relate the material to "real-world" examples. I'm always ready to brainstorm and tailor my teaching strategies to the needs of the individual student, finding ways to integrate technology and make my tutoring instruction more engaging.
