About John
Knowing things and properly imparting knowledge to another human are two different ventures. Teaching is a separate skill set that requires stepping out of one’s own comfy understanding to jump into someone else’s cognitive journey. Mastering mathematical concepts is specifically about getting a good cognitive foundation down and then the rest of learning quickly follows rather naturally. I’m a graduate of UC Berkeley and specialize in math and science tutoring. I am active in mathematical research and discovery and other related areas. I have taught informal classes on logic, critical thinking and the history of philosophy, physics, and mathematics. Surprisingly, I was bored in math class in my younger years. It is all about finding the right teacher and can be fun and rewarding if presented in the right way.
