About Jacob

Hello, I’m Jacob and I think math is cool. I am beginning my senior year of computer science degree at CU. I have gotten A’s in all 6 required college computer science math classes.

I really enjoy tutoring others, and often find myself hanging out in the engineering lounge at CU to review/tutor homework problem sets. The best way to cement an understanding of a concept is to teach it to others.

I have no established tutoring business. I am simply a college student that is very good at math. I would love to help out anyone that needs it.

I enjoy the puzzle aspect of problem solving. Math problems have a lot of that.

College problem set review sessions

College education up to my current senior year. Very good grades, especially in math classes. This includes high school too.

About the lesson

E-mail them ahead of time, figure out what they are most hung up on. Do research prior to meeting, then watch as the student attempts the problem.

peers in the same class, children

make sure they are knowledgeable enough to really help you with your specific challenges

Taught derivatives to a kid that didn’t even know algebra yet. Calculus isn’t all algebra!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you have a good example for the problem at hand?

What specific part of the problem are they getting caught up on?

What are our knowns and unknowns?
