About Denessa

I absolutely love math! I have a bachelor's degree from WGU in business management with a focus on accounting. I specialize in making math simple by breaking down much larger problems. I've been tutoring other students since I was in high school and enjoy sharing my tips, tricks, shortcuts, and anecdotes. I prefer to tutor at the local public library or at my kitchen table. I also offer discounted rates if you need tutoring for more than one child or would like a group tutoring session with friends.

In High School, to make extra money for college, I would tutor my peers and their younger siblings. I loved it so much that I continued it.

I have an Asociates degree in Math from ASU and am currently persuing a Bachelors in Accounting from WGU Online.

About the lesson

I like to meet with them and get to know a little bit about them and how they learn best. Does Cheesey songs help them learn, or do they prefer to simply practice the steps over and over again. I cater my tutoring style to how they learn since everyone learns in their own way.

As an adult, I've worked with all age groups from college down to elementary

I would advise them to find someone that knows how to break math down, make it fun and interesting. If the tutor you are working with can't excite you or your child about math, then it will seem more like a chore than a fun learning experience. Which could lead to a distain for math.
