About Shauna

I'm a New York State Certified High School Math teacher for 5 years with the New York City Board of Education and I have 6 years of classroom experiecne. I was Writing Consultant for 8 years at York College of the City University of New York, so I'm an excellent writer as well as exceptional Math teacher who very keen to detail.

My passion is to help students learn core of skills in Math and Writing so they can be able apply their knowledge and skills in other areas of their lives.

I love Math as it helps me to think critically and analyze real world situations.

I've been teaching for 6 years which includes Algebra 1, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Calculus. Currently, I teach Algebra to 8th graders.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with students is to build a relationship students. I first give students a learning style survey that they complete so I can understand how they learn. In addition, I do an assessment test with to determine the skillls they hae mastered and need to master at their appropraite grade level.

I've work with college students, special needs students, English Language learners and adult learners.

Be preapared to persevere in solving problems and be prepared to explain your answers.
