About Hany

Experienced in all math courses and able to adapt my tutoring style to the needs of the student. Proven success in both Middle and High School math courses and in SAT/ACT math section preparation. I have an "Always Positive Attitude, Infinitely Patient" philosophy.

I enjoy interacting with the students, listening to them, and guiding them towards achieving their goals. It all started with tutoring my own daughter and son from Middle School all the way to AP Calculus. I was very proud when they both did extremely well and were accepted to Harvard University.

I have a Ph.D., 2 Master's and a Bachelor's degrees in engineering plus a long career in teaching engineering courses and working in the satellite communications industry.

About the lesson

I listen to the student to understand his or her goals, what are the current challenges, and to explore the learning style that is most appropriate for the situation. I explain my strategy for success which relies on 4 pillars: 1) Making sure that the student understands all concepts including addressing any prior knowledge gaps, 2) Gaining experience in problem solving techniques through practice, 3) Developing a quality control system so that the student can detect and correct any errors during a test or in homework, and most importantly, 4) Establishing the right level of student self confidence in her or his ability to achieve their goals. Not too little and not too much, just right.
