About Alyssa

I am a recent college graduate with a bachelors in biology/pre-physical therapy, and a minor in business administration. I have a strong passion for school and learning, and a background in daycare. This experience with children helped me to learn how to make school fun. I was able to take home skills and use them with family friends of mine. It turned into something I really enjoyed doing, and something I would like to further continue doing.

At a local daycare.  The experience allowed me to find ways to have fun learning, and incorporate games, instead of just reading a book

my typical process for working with a new student is seeing where their struggles are, as well as finding a good way to work with them. A lot of people have struggles they were unaware they had, that can lead to a bigger issue at hand. You also see that not knowing how to do something can be extraordinarily frustrating. Finding a way to communicate with the student that makes them feel comfortable is highly important

Look for someone who won't just help you know the material, but instead helps you to thoroughly understand it. Go into it with an open mind. There will be hard times, but the moments you succeed will feel amazing.
