About Kalina

I'm currently a student myself and have also struggled with difficult subject matters (in college level courses). I understand the feelings of confusion your child may have and how important patience is for learning. I was also an A+ honor roll student throughout elementary, middle, and highschool so am qualified to teach the subject matter in an engaging way.

I've always enjoying working with children, I have served as a pre school and daycare teacher for over year. I also believe that education is a fundamental part of our society and that all children have the capacity to learn, no matter how difficult it may seem at first. I love having the opportunity to tutor children because witnessing their "Eurkea!" moment is one of the best feelings you can have.

I graduated highschool at the top of my class and am currently studying at the 3rd ranked public university in our country. I have taken both stem and language arts courses that make me a well rounded tutor. I have also taken numerous psychology classes that provide insight to how a particular child may best learn. Each child is a unique learner and it's important to understand that.

I typically evaluate the students current understanding of the subject matter and what areas need focusing on. I also evaluate what type of learner the student is whether it be hands-on, visual, audible, verbal, or logical. Each student has a unique thinking process and deserves a unique approach to compliment that. 



I think it's important for a student to feel comfortable with their tutor and as though they can struggle or ask as many questions as they need. A student should never feel embarrassed or "dumb" for not understanding something and I do my best to make them feel as though it's a safe space for them.
