About Pamela
I started teaching after graduating from Sam Houston State University. I taught math for 19 years at the high school level, and have now taught 14 years at the elementary level.
I have taught 2nd grade, 5th grade, and a variety of high school math and social studies classes. I am currently an interventionist working with students that have dyslexia, and with students that are struggling in math.

When working with a new student, I like to take some time to get to know the student. I also want to know the student's strengths and weaknesses. Then, I work to help the student on current weaknesses as well and help in filling possible gaps in learning.
I have worked with students that were gifted learners, average ability learners, as well as students that struggle with math and need extra intervention.
I feel that students should find a teacher that is knowledgeable about the content, but I also feel it is just as important that the teacher and student have a connection. Students will often work harder for teacher that they know care about them.
