About Ms Miriam

I am passionate, dedicated and optimistic about what i do. My teaching style is creative and easy to understand. Simplifying is the key.

I know the subject areas like the back of my hand, since i have have been doing this for over 18 years.

I go above and beyond to insure student ssuccess and to accomodate parent schedules. I am certified by the Florida Board of Education in Mathematics, k -12 and I also teach Algdbra at college level.

Besides the fact that I enjoy math on all levels, I am a people-person and I love to be able to interact with young people who want to learn new things and are so receptive to acquiring that fresh new knowledge. That' s exciting!

Especially when my return clients inform me that they not only passed but are now in honors classes.

That is very rewarding to me.

As a matter of fact, I often ask students to intermittengly teach me during parts of the sessions. Teaching is the highest form of learning and i guess that"s also the key!

If the student can teach me after I have explained the material sell, then he has fully understood it.

Started teaching for Huntington Learning Centers 20 years ago when my friend and owner asked me to join the team.

About the lesson

I work first on the material at hand, in order to improve the grade and then i work on previous, current and immediate future material.

It' like mixing a perfect math smoothie every time!

Dixlexic, Attention Deficit , and Autistic chilfren as well as Gifted children.

Make sure they are fluent in both English and Spanish and make sure they are Certified Math Educators with knowledge and teaching resources.

I had a student that cam via remote that had not passed the Algebra 1 FSA test in the last years, this year would be her final try. She waa discouraged and sad.

i gave her a very focused set of review questiions that i put together myself from various testing resources.

She was so grateful, she finally passed and scored 2 ponits from 100% which bumped up her GPA as well!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What needs to be done immediately to bring up their grades? After that is prioritized, then a valance between what is being taught and what will come ahead , as well as a bit of missed skills.

Perfect! Miriam is an amazing tutor. The way she was able to explain slopes and coordinate planes to my son, helped him understand it immediately. She takes the time to learn what a kid likes and then finds a way to apply it to the lesson of the day. My son actually finished with her and said Mom, that was fun and now I get it. I am so grateful to have found her.

I love Math Cafe, she is the best tutor ever. I love the way she explains everything and going to her studio. She has all the materials and is very prepared for whatever it is you need help with or study for. She always prints out lessons for me before I go to class so we can practice on. The setting of the place is calm and professional. All the materials are there if you need them (pencils, pens, highlighters whiteboards, dry-erase markers, paper...). The best tutor I have ever had. She is 100 times better than any Math teacher I had to endure. I love going to Math Cafe before I have an exam because I destress and practice everything before the exam, as a result, I always end up getting A's. I cannot imagine not having Math Cafe, I would fail Math Class.
