About Elise
I am a certified elementary teacher. I have taught grades 3 and 5, but I am certified in all grade levels 1-5. I am very familiar with Eureka math, and I can give many tools and hints to help parents understand as well!
I have been tutoring for 5 years, and I enjoy watching kids get the “AH HA moment”.
I always knew I wanted to be a teacher! I began my teaching career in 5th grade. I eventually switched to 3rd grade, and I am now currently back in 5th grade. I am very familiar with each grade level because in order to be successful, you must know what your student should know when they come to you, what they need to know while you teach them, and what they will be conquering when they leave your classroom.
I have been a tutor for 5 years, and I am elementary certified! I graduated with a bachelors degree of science in education. I am very familiar with Eureka Math, and I have ample resources to use for both student and parent.

I like to evaluate the student and find out their prior knowledge. From there, I will accommodate the students needs through a variety of tools. Students will be able to see the problem worked in multiple ways.
I have worked with a variety of students. I had/have the inclusion class which holds a variety of students who have specific needs. I have worked with students who are Autistic, ADD/ADHD, and many other special needs. Each child is different, so no one child learns the same.
Find a teacher who is compatible with your child’s needs. Be open and honest with the tutor so they can better accommodate your child, and fill in the missing gaps your child needs to succeed. Ask many, many questions!
I am fond of watching my fifth grade students start the beginning of the year writing 3 to 4 sentences to writing a 6 paragraph literary analysis essay by the end of the year. Watching children who think they can’t turn into a hard working student is my greatest success.
