About Will
Richardson Tutors & Co.
RTC was founded to help supplement students learning during these turbulent times. My mother was/is a teacher, so I have been around the schoolroom my entire life. I have seen the passion and care she exhibits on a day-to-day basis to her students, and that has carried over into my pursuit to better serve the community.
I received my BBA and MSA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. I have completed all of the CPA exams and hope to have my work experience hours completed here within the next two months, then I will be a certified CPA. I tutored off and on all throughout college ranging from middle school to college-aged students.
I worked in Private Equity for a year and a half before taking a Director of Finance role at an up and coming PropTech startup company. My work experience has primarily been focused on accounting and finance-related tasks.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the types of services and courses that I offer tutoring for. I can't wait to hear from you!
I love getting to see students progress in their school work and gain more confidence in themselves. I hope to make learning more enjoyable while also instilling life lessons along the way. Success for me is seeing a student grow in their knowledge of whatever desired subject they need help in, but also being able to take the study/preparation skills they have learned and put that to use towards their passions.
I began tutoring when I was in high school. When I was a senior I helped younger students with Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics. My mom is also an elementary school teacher, so I spent time helping some of her students with their reading assignments during my off periods.
My passion for tutoring continued in college when I worked part-time at a local Dallas tutoring agency. Now that I have completed college and am in the workforce with a full-time job, I am looking to help continue giving back to the community via tutoring in my free time.
BBA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University (SMU)
MSA in Accounting from SMU
Minor in Sport Management from SMU
I have completed all four of the CPA exams and currently obtaining my work experience credits to receive my official CPA designation.

I typically spend the first session or two understanding the best way to communicate with my pupil. As I learn more about their study habits, communication methods, what motivates them, etc. I will cater to my sessions accordingly. I hope to make learning more enjoyable while also instilling life lessons along the way. What it means to work hard, prepare for success, and ultimately find what you are passionate about.
I have worked with students ranging from 1st grade all the way up to seniors in high school. Primarily focusing on math subjects while sprinkling in some reading comprehension with younger students here and there.
I would tell the student to look for a couple of different questions/qualities:
- Is this someone that you respect and would be willing to learn from?
- Is this someone that you enjoy spending time with, and thus will be able to enjoy the process of learning?
- Does this person have true experience in the subject that you are looking to find help in? Have they completed schooling at a reputable institution?
- Do they appear to be in it for the money or are they taking a genuine interest in their student's growth and learning?
Completing all four CPA exams in just under 3 months. The process of preparing for the exams taught me so much more than just accounting. It further solidified to me the concept that achieving something that you have worked hard for is so rewarding. This is something that I carry with me into every tutoring session now. Just teaching pupils about subjects isn't why I am tutoring. I try to raise young men/women that have discipline in the pursuit of their passions.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
When a student first comes to me I would love for them to have the answers to the following questions, and it is more than okay if they don't have all the answers:
- What subject are you seeking help with? Why are you looking for a tutor? Is it for test prep, general homework help, or something else?
- If you have had a tutor before what did you like about them? What did you dislike?

Typically my rate is around $40/hr, with some wiggle room both ways depending on time/subject/age requirements.
This is the rate that I charged when I was a tutor all the way back in high school. I have decided to keep my rates low even though I could charge more because I would like to be able to assist as many families as possible.
