About Eileen
I’m a dedicated and nurturing educator. My experience is mostly in inner city environments with many diverse students. I’m used to thinking “on the fly” and adapting my lesson plan to fit the needs of my students. My passion is helping students become the best they can be.
I enjoy meeting many different types of children from varied backgrounds. Also, I am motivated by helping students achieve the results they are looking for in their academics.
I was a camp counselor the summer of my 18th year. I really enjoyed the work and found that I was good at making connections with the children.

I like to do an interest survey and have the student fill out an intake form. This gives me a good idea of the things they like to do; the person they are outside of school. We spend some time talking about their goals for school.
Mostly inner city students from diverse backgrounds/ability levels

You may need to meet with more than one teacher to see who would be a good fit for you and the goals you wish to achieve.
Recently one of my more difficult classes did a gallery walk to view their peer’s writing work and provide feedback to them. Considering what a challenging class this is, I was pleasantly surprised by how well they did with this activity, how serious they took the assignment, and how well-behaved they were during the exercise.
