About Lydia
I am a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and have double-majored in Japanese and Peace, War, and Defense. Currently, I am working towards teaching in Japan and am volunteering in various schools to educate students in grades K-12. My passion deeply lies in learning and teaching Japanese, Korean, and Math. However, I can confidently teach a wide range of subjects. My teaching philosophy is "Having a good understanding is the core for succeeding in any subject." As such, I focus on helping students understand concepts and reasonings so that they have the necessary tools to flexibly tackle new problems independently. Because I know studying can be frustrating, I teach at my student's eye level and put in extra effort to keep my lessons enjoyable.
