About Shaun

Highly motivated tutor with a broad base understanding on multiple subjects

I love helping people and seeing a student grow in their understanding, overcoming obstacles they once thought were impossible, and in the end, succeeding!

I started through a program at my school that allows upperclassmen to get involved with the community and tutor middle school and elementary school kids. I then started in the program called AVID tutoring at my school, helping disadvantaged sophomores at my school.

I am a High School Graduate and have taken a total of 14 AP (Advanced Placement College Board) Classes, anywhere from AP Calculus BC to APES to AP Seminar and beyond! I have tutored apart of NHS at my high school, and for an organization called AVID tutoring which helps underprivileged kids excel and grow in their academic strengths by asking questions to increase understanding. I also tutor local kids who need help with ACT/SAT and other academic work.

About the lesson

Working on a one-on-one basis to improve academic and structural learning by asking questions for increased understanding; will adapt to many different learning styles! I will first start with some introductory ice breakers and then begin with where the help is needed most!

I have worked with students ranging from elementary schoolers, middle schoolers, to high schoolers! K-12! I have also worked with kids with mental disabilities and from low socioeconomic backgrounds as well.

Pick the person you feel most comfortable with and can help you grow as a person and as a student! Go with your gut feeling :)

Apart from the elephant in the room, COVID-19, I loved the event about Captain Tom Moore who took laps around where he lived to raise money for PPE and ended up raising over $39 million dollars! He turns 100 today so it is an incredible testament to the ability to stay positive during ambitious times.
