About Lavanya

I am very passionate about math and working with others.

I am going to be a senior in high school and I have excelled in the most advanced math classes. I am experienced to teach, Geometry, Algebra 1/2, Pre-calculus, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus AB and BC. I have received As in all these classes. Additionally, I have experience tutoring math for two years and have helped students prepare for AMC math competitions. I have also worked at an afterschool center where I tutored elementary school kids in Math, Science, Social Sciences, and English.

In addition for my experience in the tutoring field and my passion for mathematics, I serve on a select student group that works with our board of education, which provided me with ample experience in working with students of all ages. Also, I have earned the Congressional Gold Medal after doing over 400 hours of service and personal and physical development.

Altogether, I will be your ideal tutor because I am dedicated and passionate. I will use a variety of teaching methods to ensure you receive the support and guidance you need. I look forward to working with you!

I started teaching because I love the value of education. I even started my own nonprofit, Schools for Success (schoolsforsuccess.com) which provides underprivileged kids with necessary educational resources. Feel free to check out the 6 projects we have completed till now and 2 ongoing projects. The reason I started to teach is the reason I continue to teach, I believe education is the most valuable thing in this world, and with the right support and guidance, any student can achieve their potential.

About the lesson

I will have a first free 30-minute call to get to know the student and his or her needs. Then, I create an individualized course plan of set goals to properly address the student's unique needs and learning style.

Usually, my classes are $25 per hour and $35 for an hour and a half. However, the prices are slightly flexible based on the student's financial situation.
