About Samar
I am an incredibly passionate person. When I seek out a job, I put in 110% in order to properly execute it. I have great self-awareness which allows me to read a students' body language even over zoom. This is highly important because due to our current circumstances, several body cues that assist teachers to understand whether students understood the material or not are lost in the online environment. Therefore, I put a large emphasis on understanding the student on a more personal level and becoming more familiar body language, so I can ensure to keep students engaged.
The most gratifying experience about tutoring is when you see that lightbulb moment on students' faces when the material finally starts to make sense. It's extremely rewarding to know that I was able to boost someone on their journey to academic success.
My journey with tutoring started when I would help my friends with their math homework. After a while, I realized how much I enjoyed assisting others to achieve success in their classes, so I made the decision to tutor so I can help people beyond my circle. Since then, I have helped several other students achieve academic success.

During my first session, I give my student a bit of background about myself so they can feel comfortable sharing as much about themselves as possible. While teaching, I try to identify the students' weak spots so I focus on targeting them in later sessions. Finally, I set up a schedule with them for as long as they would like to hold tutoring sessions.
I have worked with primarily high school students taking math classes ranging from Algebra 1 to Algebra 2. I have also helped my peers with College Algebra and Business Calculus.
I suggest you pick a tutor that makes you feel comfortable asking questions and understands the importance of patience when it comes to teaching especially in the subject of math. It's no fun being rushed and the main reason behind holding tutoring sessions is to focus on your comprehension of the material regardless of how long it takes.

Students should try regularly attending class, attempting to take notes, and do their homework. If you are still experiencing difficulty with the material, it's best to approach your teacher and consider getting a tutor.

Samar has really helped me understand and excel in math. She is a very kind person and spends time getting to know you and figure out what learning style suites you the best. I feel that she really took her time with me and was patient through the whole process. If I ever need help with math I’m definetly coming back to her.
