About Amber
Greetings,
My name is Dr. Wingfield-Loftin. I first started tutoring in the 4th grade. Although my teacher sent me to help 1st graders with their math work as a way to keep me busy because I would finish my work early, it created a space for me to develop a love for helping others. I started my first tutoring business in 9th grade, tutoring my peers in Algebra and Geometry. I developed a love for math that allowed me to see math and science in everything I did.
From an artist to instrumentalist, playing over 6 instruments, to a student athlete, playing basketball and softball, I saw math in it all, which allowed me to write and implement my first math curriculum to meet the needs of juveniles in alternative schools at the age of 17.
I believe in meeting my students where they are and build their confidence so they can see that they can do math, science, and ELA.
This approach has allowed me the opportunity to help over 100 students get into their top college choices, score high on the SAT, obtain the GED, and grow a to become independent learners.
I look forward to working with you and seeing you reach your educational / athletic goals.
