About
I love to teach! It would be an honor to serve your child in their educational journey. I went to New York University's Stern School of Business and have a Bachelor of Science in double majors: Information Sciences and Organizational Behavior. I primarily have a technology background, but have been an avid tutor for 5 years to kids age 6-15 in both ELL and Math. I currently work in higher education supporting online course design for top universities, so I am very comfortable working with online video conferencing tools. I am currently working on my Certificate of Eligibility (CE): a pathway to becoming a classroom teacher in NJ.
Math teaches logic and order and provides opportunities to utilize critical-thinking skills. Through various tutoring positions, I have learned how to best teach math to different age groups and diverse populations through the use of games, guided math activities, visuals or technology. By instilling a positive attitude for the subject, any child can be good at math! I am very attuned to the long term influence of math and my examples always demonstrate the relevance of math to our daily lives. This includes modeling how to have meaningful conversations about math. I also take what kids already love in the world and find a way of embedding what is needed to teach into that. It's one of the best ways to help them remember the lessons.
