About Imani
Detroit native. Houston resident. Howard Alum. Breaker of generational curses.
I was born and raised on the east side of Detroit, MI where I developed a love for math and reading at a young age. I began tutoring Detroit youth in mathematics during my summers and on weekends while enrolled in high school.
I went on to graduate from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. While enrolled at Howard, I continued to spend my summers tutoring youth on Detroit’s east side in both math and reading.
After college, I began a career as an Admissions Counselor for both online higher education programs and digital courses for real estate agents and other sales professionals.
After spending almost seven years in sales and recruiting, I am returning to my roots with my own education company, CurseBreakerZ, where I serve the Houston community as a mathematics tutor for K-12 students. I am a believer in education providing children with an opportunity to change the trajectory of their lives, as it did for me. I am also an advocate for educating black communities on financial literacy, physical health, and nutrition.
I have a Bachelors degree in Mathematics from Howard University and have over 10 years of experience tutoring students in math.
