About Elif

I am a passionate teacher who loves teaching math. I use multiple strategies to teach one concept because I believe every student learns differently. I love including technology in my lessons to make them engaging and fun. I am also a believer in a growth mindset and help my students change their math and learning mindset.

I enjoy seeing the a-ha moments of my students after spending some time on a lesson. I love building confidence in math. Creating interactive and online games is another passion of mine.

I started teaching as a tutor when I was in college. I worked as a tutor, mentor, substitute teacher. I worked as a middle school math teacher for the past four years.

I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics education. I am currently studying for my master's degree in Math Education for adult learners. I have Arizona and Washington state certificates to teach k-12 math.

About the lesson

When I work with a new student, I assess the student to understand his/her knowledge on the topic. I also talk with students and parents to learn about teaching styles that worked/ did not work on the student before to plan accordingly. I make sure the student is motivated.

I worked with students between the ages 8 to 18.
