About Emily
Hello! I am currently an undergraduate student at Tufts University studying computer science, and studio arts. I am looking for families who are looking for a tutor as the coming school year approaches.
Qualifications - working with young students:
TA for middle school art (help plan and organizing classes as well as assist in the teaching)
Peer Mentor (In high school I, along with another peer, would go into middle school advisories and connect with the young students by playing games and leading discussions)
Summer Program (Helped lead a summer program for students entering into middle school teaching sewing and drawing)
Qualifications - Academic:
Tufts Dean's List Award for Academic Excellence
Nominated by my English professor to join the literature department of my university as a teaching fellow
Reached math level of Calculus II at University
I love how versatile tutoring can be. Every student has their own way of learning. I, for example, am a very hands-on learner and I need to work through examples to understand. The challenge of finding different ways of explaining a topic is especially rewarding when I can see the aha! moment on a student's face when they finally understand!
