About Sanley

I have 6 years of experience in the classroom. I've taught hundreds of middle school students learn mathematics to help them pass their Math FSA at the end of the school year. I know how to find the gaps in students learning and use fun engaging resources to fill in their gaps to help the student succeed in math. I know what types of questions to ask students in order to help them further understand the lesson we are going reviewing.

I was an AmeriCorps volunteer at a low socioeconomic high school tutoring Geometry and helping students get ready for college. I loved being in the classroom and went into teaching the following year.

I am a certified Florida teacher, and I have taught for 6 years. While teaching I have also tutored students one-on-one or in small groups. I have tutored students both face-to-face and online.

About the lesson

I talk with the student for a few minutes to help them get comfortable with me. Then I would watch as they complete an example problem to assess where their learning gaps might be. Once I know what skills they are proficient in, then I am better able to fill in the gaps while encouraging the student the entire way.

I have worked with spanish speaking students, ESE and ESOL students, students with learning disabilities, students who are 3-4 grades behind, and students who are 1-2 grades above.
