About Nicholas

I offer private tutoring services in all math courses prior to calculus. This includes elementary, middle school, high school, college algebra. I also can help students fully prepare for the math/quantitative portions of all standardized tests such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, & GMAT.

I have been tutoring students in math since 2005, and understand patience & versatility are key to success. Everybody learns differently, and I make it my #1 priority to first understand how you learn best.

I have won multiple state titles in competition math, was valedictorian of my class, & have coached multiple students to state titles. I currently work as a Global Pricing Manager for a private international company, and love to spend my free time helping students be successful in their studies.

I have been tutoring for nearly 15 years now, and have taken through calculus 3 at the university level. I don't have any formal training as a tutor, but I am naturally excellent at helping others learn math.

About the lesson

I feel that the most important part of our work together will be done during the first tutoring session. I typically will have the student talk me through their current understanding of the subject matter, and what troubles they may be having. From this discussion I can usually pickup on how they learn & perceive concepts. This allows me to help them learn in a way that they're comfortable with!

I have worked with kids in elementary school all the way through senior citizens who decided to take courses at their local community college. Some of my students are at the top of their class, but need help scoring high on a standardized test. Others are having a hard time grasping algebra, because the teacher may not be explaining it in a way that makes sense to them.

I am flexible on my rates, but they vary based on the subject matter and distance I have to drive. I typically offer tutoring with a 2 hour minimum session.
