About Sofie
I am passionate about providing individualed tutoring and getting to know each and everyone of my students. I have had several years of volunteering in tutoring middle school and elementary school children and last summer I had a paid position as an SAT reading/writing tutor at a learning center. I am currently studying biomedical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis.
I most enjoy getting to help students enjoy the learning experience.
I have always enjoyed helping others and being a tutor allowed me to expand others' learning experience in ways that I benefitted myself from.

First, I familiarize myself with exactly what the students are struggling with. Then, I help them get practice in those areas and help them with questions along the way. To close, I check back in with the progress in that area they've made and how they feel about what they're learning.
I have mainly done volunteer work for underprivileged children. Last summer, I worked in a learning center without any specific type of student.
Look for a teacher that will help you feel comfortable with whatever you are struggling with.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What exactly am I struggling with?
Will having another person answer your questions help you or do you need to change some study habits?
What kinds of learning styles do you prefer?
