About Christy

I have a passion for providing individualized tutoring to meet the unique needs of each of my students, helping them to reach their full potential. I have over 12 years of classroom teaching experience at both the intermediate and primary levels. In addition, I have worked as a tutor for many years, helping students in a one to one setting in reading and math. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, and I most recently earned a TESOL certificate. I look forward to working hard to help you reach your academic goals!

I have known from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher.  Starting in high school, I completed a year long internship program at my former elementary school.  During college, I had many experiences related to my major, Elementary Education.  After graduating, I immediately began working in an elementary school.



I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  I have worked as an educator at the elementary level for over 12 years.  I have also worked as a reading and math tutor for many years.  I have 5 years of experience working as a one to one aid for students with special needs.  I most recently earned a TESOL (Teaching English to Seakers of Other Languages) certificate.

In the first tutoring session, I speak with parents to find out what academic goals they would like to see their child reach.  I then evaluate my student to determine strengths and areas for growth.



I have taught in both primary and intermediate classrooms at the elementary level.  I have tutored students in reading and math in 1st-8th grade.
