Lots of people could care less about the application of math to reality (like physics and engineering). But people do math all the time in everyday life:
You set your alarm clock using subtraction.
You choose your car using ratios (miles per gallon).
You decide where you’ll live or work using distance (and tons of algebra to figure gas mileage and tolls).
Even vegging out watching TV uses math: “Do I have time during this commercial set to go pee?”
If you’re not using math, you’re either asleep or dead.
I started tutoring because I work disabled children and they just wasn’t catching on to math, like other children and I helped them a lot.
Well with my education, I have work in banking for accounting information, I have certificate in pharmacy tech aslo child development, and furthermore I’m currently in school for nursing.

I have work with a variety of students, from disable students to students who just wasn’t interested in math.
Be Patient. You may have to go over material more then once, but don't be discouraged. Remember, give the students time to think through questions and problems before you give them the correct answer.
Be punctual and bring all the necessary materials.
Admit it if you don't know an answer.We don't expect you to know everything. If you make a mistake, admit it. You can refer the student to an instructor/TA, or try to find the answer before the next tutoring session.
Listen. Give your full attention to the students. Actively listen to what they are saying, then paraphrase what they have said. This displays your interest in the tutee's learning process.
Well, a recent event I was fond of is that my friend wanted to know what type of math, I was doing in pharmacy tech and I.. was eager to teach them to check how great my tutoring skills are.
