About Theodore

Hi! I am a current student at Front Range Community College and am studying mechanical engineering. I am very passionate about learning, and have always had a fondness towards mathematics. I am also quite articulate, so I am good at communicating ideas in a way that anyone can understand. Teaching is not simply me talking at you, but talking with you, it is interactive which is why I say that you and I are both traveling towards a goal together. I will treat you with respect, no matter what. I look forward to hearing from you!

I love mathematics in general. I think the concept that one can get from simple arithmatic to calculus from the same line of thinking is fascinating, and I love seeing the process of that happening. Same with chemistry, as it is quite math based. I want students to have a positive experience, I want there to be more math lovers out there. I enjoy teaching because I love knowing I helped someone gain a better understanding.

I heard about a student instructor job at Front Range Community College and got hired. I am currently training, and I love it. I decided I wanted to broaden my scope to those outside of FRCC, as I have been told by peers and teachers alike that I am quite good at teaching people in ways that are personal to them.

I am a mechanical engineer major. I was accepted to Colorado School of Mines and California Polytechnic State University for mechanical engineering straight out of high school, but I am currently studying at Front Range Community College in Westminster. I attended Monatch High School and graduated top of my class in 2019 with a 4.0 GPA. I have great people skills as I have worked in customer service since I got my first job at age 15. I have been hired by Front Range Commounity College to be a student instructor.

About the lesson

To ensure that my tutoring is most effective and helpful, I want to first have a general background of the student. What is your name? Where do you go to school? What is your schooling background? How have you felt about math/chemistry/school in general in the past? What previous math/chemistry classes have you taken? Are there any special needs or things I should be sensitive too? Basically: anything you think I should know about you. Then I like to know the specifics of what you may be struggling with: what subject are you currently in? What is your grade/what would you like to get your grade up to? Are you using this tutoring for one big test or to get a better understanding of the subject? What unit are you on and what specifically is giving you trouble? Is this for a grade or are you wanting to study for the SAT/ACT? For this portion, I want to know what your goals are that you and I can work towards together. Not all of these questions need to be answered, but any and all that apply to you I would appreciate knowing. Then, in our first session, I can go over these briefly with you, and we can dive in together at whatever pace is comfortable for you. I want to make sure you are satisfied with what we went over at the end of every lesson.
