About Jackie

I offer a combined approach that will work best for the student, utilizing zoom/FaceTime, in person sessions as well as being available by text to answer questions and send videos for the student to be able to revisit as they need.

I love connecting with a student to understand their strengths and how we can use those to improve the areas where they struggle. Often, struggling students feel down on themselves, and helping them grow in a way that's also fun for them is extremely rewarding for the student and for myself.

I started by helping my cousins who live out of state with homework via video calls. From there, family friends and their networks reached out.

The first step is understanding the student and the parent's learning goals. I also talk with the student to get a good understanding on their feelings on the subject and what is the most challenging for them. This helps me personalize  learning plan to that student.

The method used depends on the student's prefered learning method. With distance learning, I've done video calls, made and sent videos, and helped over texting. In-person is also an option depending on the circumstances. Safety of the student and their family is a huge priority during these unprecedented times.



Elementary (3rd & 5th - reading and math)
