About Chelsea

I tutor in math, reading, writing, and some sciences. I can also help with history and English. I’ve tutored for over 20 years, all ages k-12. I have a bachelors degree in communications and work at Amazon while finishing my nursing degree.

I've always had a passion for teaching others new things. My favorite is to see the lightbulb moment when someone finally understands something.

I was a teachers aide for 12 years with all levels pre-k - 12, including special ed.

English

I get to know the student and see their likes and dislikes and where they are academically. I get with their parents and see where their teachers would like them to improve. For example, a huge fear that many people have is public speaking, and I have found that the most simple way to combat that is to read out loud to someone.

All ages k-12 from all walks of life.

Someone that can teach one single topic in a multitude of ways. Adapting a subject to an individual learner is key to a good tutoring experience.

Details

I charge $20 an hour. I come to you. That is for a solid 60 mins of tutoring, that does not include "getting ready" time, so I'm usually there for closer to 90 mins.
