About Dylan
Helping students with organizational and study skills that apply to life beyond the classroom. Students develop discipline and learn how to set and complete goals.
I started tutoring in high school at age 15 when I became a TA for AP Calculus AB. While many tutors have years of experience, they often tutor for only 1 or 2 hours a week. The first 5 years of my tutoring career were done in this casual fashion. Once I started college I needed a way to pay tuition and bills. I began working in the restauraunt and after school care sectors, but eventually realized I'm very well suited for tutoring. In the past 3.5 years I've tutored for 15-35 hours a week, honing my skills and becoming a master of the craft.

Assessing strengths and weaknesses by letting the student demonstrate their knowledge. I believe the focus should not be on telling a student what to do, but rather make sure they have the prerequisite tools and guide them so they find the solutions on their own. Often issues are not with the current content, but with foundaational concepts necessary for new material. Once those holes are identified and patched, students tend to gain confidence and find success.
I have extensive experience with adhd, autism spectrum, and gifted students.
