About Frederick

I can travel to you or do remote learning. While I am a currently employed high school music teacher with a doctorate, I have been helping my seventh grade son with math and other topics for homework for six years and I really love it. I have also run a summer skills sharpening camp for students in grades one through eight which covered both math, English and other subjects. I use my teaching experience to relate concepts to the students. There is nothing more that brings me satisfaction than for a student to all of a sudden understand the concept and be able to solve problems

I received my B.S. in education from Penn State University

I am a certified teacher in the state of New Jersey. I have tutored my 12 year-old son in math,science,english and other topics for six years. I have run a skills sharpening camp in English and math for grades 1-8 through the local YMCA

About the lesson

I like to see a student try to solve problems and understand where they are having difficulties. Then I like to break down the problems into steps. I feel that if students have a step by step procedure, they will be more successful. I will then draw up simple example problems which will help them practice the step by step procedure

In addition to working with my son for six years, I have run a skills sharpening camp for students in grades one through eight. This covered both math, english and other subjects.
