About GEORGE

I always feel delighted seeing my students realize new academic potentials.

I graduated from a top tier university with a degree in mechanical engineering. My profession proves my interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects, while graduation level shows that I am driven by success and high standards. Previously, I have taught these subjects to middle and high school students as part of the work-study program. Currently, I work as a STEM tutor and freelance academic writer from my home to help students like you realize their full academic potential. Throughout my tutoring career, my philosophy has centered on trying to understand the distinct needs of their students and adjusting accordingly. Moreover, I am patient and I try to employ all creative ways to ensure the students master the concepts, not just for the sake of passing exams, but for future application in life.

I love teaching Maths, chemistry, physics, and engineering subjects. During my college days, I volunteered for four years as an after-school tutor for middle and high school students. This is a common mentorship program in my country, whereby university students volunteer to help junior students struggling with STEM subjects. Since graduating, I have been working as a tutor in a number of college tutoring agencies. I am a patient tutor who employs all creative ways to ensure the students master the concepts, not just for the sake of passing exams but also for future application in life.

I am a versatile engineering tutor who graduated from a top tier university with a master of science in mechanical engineering. My profession proves my interest in STEM (science, technology, and mathematics) subjects, while my education level demonstrates that I am driven by success and high standards.

About the lesson

Besides being on time and dressing appropriately during the first session with the student, I would break the ice by holding a lively conversation to build rapport between the two parties. Next, I would administer a diagnostic pre-test to gain insight into where subsequent sessions should focus. Lastly, I would involve the student in setting goals on what we should accomplish along the way and upon completing the session. Fundamentally, I would ask them their goals so that I know if I should do more work, speaking, writing, or listening with them.

I do have experience as an after school teacher for elementary, middle, high school, and college students.

My advice to the student is that they should look for a teacher who:

1.       Has relevant academic background or training in the required area of study

2.       Is patient and employs all strategies to ensure the student succeeds in coursework

3.       Can communicate both inside and outside of the classroom

4.       Has enthusiasm for the job

5.       Is flexible and able to adjust his/her teaching styles based on the student’s needs

6.       Is receptive to their feedback

Usually, we do not celebrate the Christmas together but this year, it was a coincidence that we all got together to celebrate the day in New York. The event was attended by other family members and the cousins as well. We made delicious food, decorated the house, made Christmas trees, wrapped gifts for others and so on. I enjoyed the event much because of the people I had with me. Actually, it was a wonderful get together of all the members this year and I will remember it for a long time.

My standard pricing for the lessons is $15 per hour. However, the price may vary depending on the compexity of the topic, and the student's academic level. I also give occassional discounts or bonus lessons to the students who demonstrate significant improvements within the first 10 lessons.
