About Jade
Hi, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies & Master of Arts in Education in my California hometown where I taught multiple subjects in 5th and 6th grade at a dual immersion school. I moved to New York and worked as a private teacher while developing an in-depth understanding of what education can be in seemingly limitless and ultra-supportive environments. I make up silly songs and dances about everything, jump in puddles, get excited when I see an animal in nature, and marvel at the vast night sky in the wilderness. I love the smells of the seasons, the unexpected colors of spring, and the crunch of snow under my boots. After four years of full-time traveling and long-distance hiking, I am excited to bring my globally-informed perspective back to the classroom.
I currently teach third grade at an independent school in NYC and love being back in the classroom with a room full of happy students. I want to tutor students who need a little bit of support or enrichment and hope to help foster their creativity, promote academic excellence, and inspire a passion for lifelong learning.
