About Simcha

My students receive a personalized tutoring approach based on the student's situation.

I give a realistic plan of action grounded in what the student can handle and I push my students to strive further then they think they can

I enjoy tutoring and seeing my students grow both in their knowledge and confidence of the subject at hand. My favorite part of teaching and tutoring is seeing the results at the end and seeing how far my student has come.

I started teaching when I was in high school. I would tutor fellow students in the neighborhood who needed help in a particular topic, and usually it was math.

In college I continued my teaching track by volunteering my tutoring services to peers who needed assistance. In addition I tutored many students in the local area in Bible Studies, and my teaching continues to this day: I give a class every morining and I tutor students in the afternoon and evening.

I am an Electrical Engineer with both work experience and tutoring experience.

My tutoring experience covers a variety of topics from mathematics to the sciences, and all demographics ranging from elementary school to high school to post high school and college students.

About the lesson

When starting with a new students, I always take a few minutes to get to know him/her first. This allows me to get a decent understanding of his/her personality and can give me a baseline of approach to teaching the student.

Once getting to know the student a little I'll continue by asking him/her what he/she wants to learn to gauge the differential of the students expectations versus the goal of the tutoring sessions.

Then I'll move onto the actual tutoring. This starts a level lower than what I assess the student can handle and will work from there and adjust as needed.

I have worked with all types of students: strong students, weaker students. Students with a good background in the material and students who have yet to take the first step in the course.

My advice when hiring a tutor is always the same: find a tutor that you understand and that understands you. Tutoring is not the same as teaching. Tutoring is a personalized agenda for the particular student, whereas teaching is aimed for the masses.

Look for a tutor that can understand your needs and can relay the infirmation to you in a relatable, clear, and concise manner.
