About Martin

I am a retired math professor and have taught most undergraduate college math classes. These include calculus, statistics and abstract algebra.

I’ve tutored some high school students in the past few years and enjoy working with that age group as well.

I did a summer teaching internship at the St. Paul's School when I was a junior in college. St. Paul's takes public school students from all over New Hamphire for a six week enrichment program. I enjoyed that experience and it was the beginning of my long teaching career.

I received degrees in Math from Brown (BA '73), Yale (MS '75), and Brown (PhD '78).

I recently retired from Wellesley College as a tenured full professor. I am not only an accomplished teacher, but a prolific researcher. While at Wellesley, I read Admissions for two years and has a sense of what an excellent liberal arts college is looking for in an applicant.

About the lesson

I meet with the student and find out what subjects they would like to work on. I also find out if there are tests that the student is trying to prepare for. After learning about the student, I plan our lessons.

Elementary school students, high school students and college students.
