About Marlene

I am a veteran teacher and tutor for 40 years, age 9 through college. With two master's degrees and all current clearances, I have taught all levels of math, science, reading and writing, test prep, and special education, including being assistant director and testing diagnostician at a private tutoring business. My students have met with a great amount of success, improving quarter letter grades by one or two levels, and improving college and GED test scores by 40 to 50 points. My students and parents have been pleased with the outcome of tutoring sessions. I retired last year, and am looking to stay involved in my passion for teaching!

I enjoy seeing the smile on the faces of my students and parents as progress each session is made and retained. I treasure when, due to my years of experience in teaching, the "light bulb" goes on in the student's mind. It is so rewarding to be able to help students fill in the gaps of their past learning and begin to believe in themselves!

About the lesson

I start with assessing the needs of a student based on information collected from themselves, their parents, and most often their teachers. We develop a plan of how and when to meet.
