About Kiaira

Seeing students finally understand concepts, brings me the utmost joy. I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2019 with a Bachelors in Psychology. I spent my years in both high school and college teachers peer tutoring in Math. For the past year, I have been a High School Advocate which entails me providing tutoring to my students in both of these subjects. I look forward to helping students!

I enjoy being able to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of students. I have worked with both elementary and high school students. I tailor my approach to each child to ensure they are learning in the style that best fits them. Rather that be students who work better with step by step instructions or better with similar examples.

Proficient in Basic Math, Elementary Math and Pre-Algebra

Essay Editing and Writing (Scored 4 on both AP tests)

1 hour initial consultation via Zoom/Ringcentral. I first pinpoint what concepts they're struggling with, address math anxiety and ensure each student that this is a safe place to ask any question. Once we began working on problems, I relate them to everyday life which makes it more relatable for the student. Additionally, providing steps and examples to ensure the student becomes an independent learner. Lastly, providing positive feedback at the end is extremely beneficial in building a learners confidence.
