About Beatriz

I am a current undergraduate engineering student at the University of Florida. All throughout high school and my time in college I have tutored students through clubs and one-on-one time. I was apart of Mu Alpha Theta, a nationally recognized high school organization known for math tutoring and math competitions. I was selected as 1 of 2 females from my 900 student senior class to attend a Women In STEM Seminar at Florida Polytechnic University, in which we learned about how to succeed and stand out as a woman in the STEM field. As well as being recognized as my high school's Student of the Year for AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC. I took a total of 17 AP classes and exams, which includes all of the offered math and science classes except AP Physics 2. In college, I received an A in Calculus 3. I adore working with younger kids in all different age ranges. Since I am on the younger side at 20 years old, I can interact with students on a personal level and also help set and achieve their goals in whatever grade they are in. I can relate to the students and I am able to navigate the new technological age of our curriculum. I hope to be able to transfer my love of math to the students.

I love seeing the look of students faces when the light bulb finally turns on in their bright brains. It's an honor to be able to serve to advance children's educations.

I like to get to know them and what level they are currently on in their curriculum. Next, I ask the student what they are learning, what they are struggling on, if they have any goals, and if they is anything specific they want to work on. From there I will build my lessons based on their needs.
