About Rose
Hello! My name is Rose and I love all things space and math. I know math is not always made fun, and that it sometimes feels like your head is going to explode if you try to understand it. I'm here to help you with that, and to blow your mind in a more constructive and fun way.
Helping students understand math is something I enjoy doing just for fun. Want to know a secret, my first A in math was in Calculus, and it wasn't until then that I realized how much I loved math. I know that we are not always ready to learn a subject, and how we learn it matters and helps. I enjoy making the math work for you, and not the other way around.
An opportunity to teach at a private academy presented itself after receiving my BS, I taught for 5 years.
I hold a BS in Astrophysics and Mathematics, currently working on a Masters in GIS.

I first like to get to know my student, like their interests and how they feel about the subject matter. Once we are ready to start going over the material, I'll ask the student to work a problem as I observe to assess what the student needs to identify, review, and practice.

Don't expect to be given answers, but do expect to understand the process. Use your voice to say "I don't get it", "I still don't get it", "Ugh, I'm tired, I don't want to get it", how a tutor responds to these statements and still manages to engage you matters.
I have been tutoring my nephew in California via google hangouts for a year now. He is a freshman in high school and learning Algebra 1.
