About Ashley

I loved school grades k-12 and want to help foster that same love in other students. School is not just about grades. An A is a high accomplishment for one student while a C is a high accomplishment for another, but a lot of students get lost in the educational system if they're not in the top 10%. I've been tutoring since I was in middle school over seven years ago and started professionally about three years ago. I want my students to realize that they can be highly successful at anything they put their hand at which means developing organization, study skills, and work ethic in addition to concrete subject knowledge. I'm a full-time business student at UGA, have had over two years of classroom/educational experience, and specialize in Language Arts/Writing. I earned a 790 on the reading portion on the SAT and a 4 on the AP Language Exam. You can most certainly trust me with your educational growth.

My mother is an educator and growing up, I spent a lot of time in her classroom. That's where my love of education began. Since then, I have been a teacher's assistant for several years. I've drafted lesson plans, taught small groups, and worked on-one-on with students. I have a comprehensive understanding of the Math and Language Arts curriculum for grades k-8.

About the lesson

When I receive a new student, I first assess them on the subject they are seeking help on. Based on those results, I draft an academic plan and share that with my students and their parents. As I learn my students' personalities and learning styles, I adapt that academic plan to best suit their needs.

I mostly work with students k-8 on Math and Reading. I also help 9-12 students with Algebra and Language Arts/Writing. My other area of expertise is preparing high schoolers for the Language and Writing Portion on the SAT as I scored a 790 on that section.

Details

My tutoring services range from $20-$40 per hour. The price depends on what the student requires. If a student only needs homework help that's $20 per hour. If a student is severely behind in three different subjects that could be $35 an hour. SAT Prep is also higher on the price spectrum.
