About Nicole
I am a math tutor with 5 years of math teaching experience. I have been tutoring for 8 years and teaching for 5. I have experience teaching the same concept in a variety of ways. My goal is to help students understand deeper concepts in math, and build confidence in themselves as a math student.
I have spent the past 4 years working at a continuation school, where I have learned that one of the best things for students struggling with math is one on one time with a teacher or tutor.
I have both a Facebook page and an Instagram dedicated to Math Makes Sense.
I have a degree in math education, and began teaching right out of college.
I am certified in high school and middle school math, and have been teaching math at the high school level for 5 years. I have also been tutoring math for 8 years, anywhere from middle school to high school math.

I spend the first few minutes getting to know the student and asking questions about their experience with math and how they feel about it. I will ask many questions when first meeting up with a student to understand their knowledge and background in math as well as their learning style. I will do my best to learn how they learn so I can better teach and help them.
I have worked in a classic high school setting as well as in an alternative school with students who are on the verge of failing out of high school.
I would tell the student it is ok to ask questions, and it is important to find a teacher that helps you feel comfortable in math. It is also important to find a teacher who is willing to meet you at your level of learning, no matter how low or high it is.
