About Penny

Luke and Penny Carda own and operate Great Goals ACT.

We met in high school and married in 1989. We partner to bring the highest quality experience to each student. Our advertising consists mainly of word of mouth and referrals from school counselors who know how effective our program is! We strive to help every student raise their score and gain confidence in themselves.

About the lesson

I like to have a phone interview or personal interview with a parent first to make sure I understand the needs of their child. I ask a parent to accompany their student to meet me in person for the first session. We discuss specific needs and set up a plan. I like to maintain contact with the parent after sessions to ensure growth and accountability for the expectations we all have. 



Grades 7-12. I have taught 7th grade general math through pre-calculus. 



Check references/call their school to verify legitimacy and go with your gut. If it doesn't feel like a good fit, move on. Make sure the person isn't just smart but can explain math. 



Some of the things I love to do are quilting, scrapbook in and card making. I love retreats where I get inspired by others with a similar passion. 

I am am the advisor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I enjoy spending time with students and helping them grow in their faith and service of others.
