About Dounia

I am a yoga teacher, and as such, love to use mindfulness tools to help the learning process, if the student is open to doing so. This is especially helpful when faced with anxiety and stress, which the pressure of exams often triggers.

I love connecting with people! Each person has their own gifts and shine in their own unique ways. It is beautiful to get to witness both the progress (which is so fulfilling for all involved!) and the peeking out little by little of a person's true self as we get more comfortable in the relationship.

I worked as an SAT tutor with the Competitive College Club, an initiative of EducationUSA in Morocco.

About the lesson

1. Assessment/diagnostic: this is work I do before our first meeting. You send me what you feel you need help with, as well as related past tests/exams (both the questions and your answers). This helps me know where you're at before we get going.

2. Our first meeting, we get to know each other, we set our goals for this first session, and we get started with some material. Once we're done with that and you and I get a taste of what the session is like and what you're looking for, we can set a plan/strategy for future sessions with an overarching goal for an extended period of time, taking into account any exams/deadlines.

3. We keep going, progressing, and learning together, reviewing our goals along the way to adapt our strategy. Let's get it!
