About Brendan

My service is simple. I believe that my purpose is to make you the best learner you can be. Not only in math but in general. Math usually makes students want to pull their hair out and quit immediately quit. That's because each student learns differently and there is no universal formula to get to all students. I can support students in the way that THEY need. I am an honors student who specializes in Algebra 1/2 and I ranked top in my class my freshman year. I am also an Eagle Scout. My goal as a tutor is to help a student recognize what strategies work for them so that they may be successful in whatever they do.

Let me put this simply. I love math. This was not always the case. In the sixth grade, I was taking 7th-grade math. Prior to this year, math was absolutely my least favorite subject. There was nothing fun about it and it bored me out of my mind. All of this ended when I entered my 7th-grade math teacher's classroom. She taught me that math is a different language that isn't difficult to understand. The only catch was that you have to apply it to the real world and have creative ways of remembering the minuscule rules of math that makes it so articulate. I have always loved teaching students. It lets me give the education I would have wanted for myself. Everyone deserves an education that will prepare them for the real world and to be successful in it.
