I have a love for the idea of giving those with learning barriers the opportunity to expand their mind. I have worked with kids on the autism spectrum, ADHD, and those with learning disabilities.
Ask a lot of questions! You will want someone with patience and, of course, knowledge within your needed area. These two things are essential for an appropriate learning environment and will make any price worth your experience!
During this past year into the current one, I had been given an allotted time at a local elementary school to tutor the students on English and Reading studies. This happens to be one of my favorite age groups and they were so excited with my learning methods! Working with a variety of students in the classroom, I was able to receive more incite to the different methods of learning that students appreciate.

What are some reasons I do not understand the material the first time I am exposed to it?
What is my preferred learning pace?
What assets do I need in a tutor?
How long can I stay fully attentive during a lesson?
What type of environment am I the most comfortable learning in?

Olivia tutored me for Accounting 214. The class was hard for me at first because of the language barrier between our professor and the rest of the class. I never grasped any concepts that were taught in class until Olivia tutored me individually. In one tutoring session i was able to understand the concepts, which led to me having an A in the course.
