About Vivian
As an experienced and qualified teacher, I can say that I am organized, approachable, consistent, accessible, open-minded and always ready to work with any student to achieve academic success within his or pace/ ability. I have been actively involved in working with Students for 22 years which has given me the opportunity to work with students within a wide range of ages, grades, and cognitive abilities. Each was a memorable one. My current position as an Education Specialist for high school students with mild and moderate disability has been great, exciting, though a bit challenging. In addition, having students from different family backgrounds is also part of my experience because culture and family orientation plays a vital role in every individual’s life. I have a bachelors degree in Food Science and Technology, a Masters degree in Human Nutrition, Education Specialist Teaching Credential and Masters in Special Education. I strongly believe that I am equipped to help students achieve their educational goals.
What I enjoy most about my profession as a teacher is watching and supporting these students full of potentials develop their skills and talents in order to achieve fulfilment in life. In order to support them effectively, I try to discover their individual strengths and weaknesses thereby developing possible educational plans to enable them to achieve their potentials and dreams. I can also say that my experience working with students do help me to find not only what motivates each student to learn but also what motivates them to misbehave. Once I am able to meet them at the appropriate time and take away that motivation, we can go a long way toward achieving more and a better learning environment.
