About Niko

I am a Student myself passionate about learning. I spent a lot of time mentoring younger kids at my church/school in San Diego. I believe that by being a young, down to earth person, it is easier for students to connect with me and not feel intimidated. I certainly felt intimidated the first time I was tutored. I have been working with kids ranging from 7 to 16. Most very young kids I tough as a Sunday School teacher. I mainly focus on Math, Physics, and Chemistry but I am comfortable with a lot of subjects. I attend Cal Poly Pomona studying Physics.

I personally love learning and I seeing the first time a student understands a given topic. The moment it clicks in their brain is what gives me joy. I spent most of my time tutoring for free for my church. I am a very patient person so working with difficult kids is no trouble for me. My outgoing personality mixed with my patience makes connecting with students easy for me. These connections, in my opinion, help greatly with a students attentiveness and drive.

I first started tutoring in 8th grade. My mom did after-care for our school and I would help students staying after finish their homework. Into high school, I organized and taught summer camps in basketball and Bible School. I later started teaching Sunday School and helped the school as a tutor for k-8 kids.

I have spent many years helping kids as a tutor and Sunday School teacher for my church. (which is also a school). On top of this. I currently study Physics at University.

Mainly I have worked with k-8 students.

If you are looking for a physics teacher I would make sure that they have studied specifically physics. Physics tends to be a subject that requires a very firm understanding in order to teach it correctly.

Details

I currently do not have any standard pricing. I am a college student and I do not expect great pay. I mainly tutor because I want to help kids learn in a way that is enjoyable. Pricing can be worked out based slightly on the subject, age of the student, and time.
